Alvin Aalseth

Alvin O. Aalseth, 67, of Central Lake, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home.

He was born September 18, 1943 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin the son of Robert and Lorraine Aalseth. Alvin and his Wife, Edna were married in Bellaire on January 12, 2009.

Alvin is survived by his loving wife, Edna Aalseth; two children, Pamela (Dave) Dueanas of Mercedes, TX., and Tim (Lory) Shafer of Central Lake, MI; one sister, Sandy (David) Pruss of Gillette, WY; three grandchildren, KiEnnAko Duenas, Zach Shafer and Alexa Shafer. He will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jim Aalseth.

Alvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 27 years. He was in the Special Forces, and a Navy Seal. He served in 7 tours in Vietnam. He was a security guard for 17 years at San Quinton. He enjoyed playing poker on Tuesday nights with all of his buddies. He also enjoyed golfing. Alvin lived in Central Lake for the past 5 years.

No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Munson Manor Hospitality House, 1220 Medical Campus Drive, Traverse City, MI 49684.
