Alice Kruse

ALICE M. KRUSE, 95, of Bellaire, formerly of Eastport, died on May 30, 2010 at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. Alice was born on May 22, 1915 in Montreal, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of Urgel and Florina (Bodry) Vinette. Alice was a resident of Eastport most of her life and served as post mistress for many years and owned and operated Kruse's market. She was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church in Bellaire and enjoyed reading, playing cards, being a caregiver and volunteering at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility. On June 30, 1948 in Detroit, she married Harold Kruse who preceded her in death in 1988. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Leah Schwartz, Anita Gereg, two brothers, Leo Vinette, Armand Vinette, a grandson Michael Dawson and her parents. Surviving are three children, Joanne (Eugene) Dawson of Central Lake, Richard (Bonnie) Kruse of Kenosha, WI., Sharon (Wayne) Oliver of Central Lake, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and extended family. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will take place in Lakeview Cemetery, Torch Lake Township. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility, 4543 S. M-88 Highway, Bellaire, MI., 49615.
