Alberta Cody

Alberta A. "Bert" Cody, 85, formerly of Traverse City but most recently of Mancelona, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, November 2, 2010 at her home in the loving arms of her daughter Sherry. Bert was born on September 20, 1925 in Bay City, MI., the daughter of John and Mary Bowden who preceded her in death. Bert attended Kalkaska United Methodist Church the last few years of her life. She resided in Traverse City for most of her life after retiring. Bert is survived by three children, Cheryl "Sherry" (Robert) Lee of Mancelona, MI., Char (Gene) McGlone of Sebastian, FL., Steve (Andi) Cody of Hudson, WI; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mildred Fischer of Bay City, MI., and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor Cody; nine sisters, and five brothers. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
