Albert Krause

ALBERT H. KRAUSE 87, of Mancelona, died on Monday, February 23, 2009 at Munson Medical Center. Albert was born on March 28, 1921 in Elbow Lake, Minnesota the son of Maxamalian and Stella Sophia Maria (Bendt) Krause. Albert resided in Mancelona since 1966 and was employed by Dura Automotive for many years. He enjoyed many outdoor activities especially fishing, hunting, mushroom hunting, and gardening. He also loved bowling. He served his country honorably in World War II where he was awarded a purple heart. On September 25, 1946 in Alden, he married Harriet B. Hoose who preceded him in death in 1997. Also preceding him in death were two sons, Harry Lee "Skip" Peck, Bradner Charles Krause, a sister Delores A.. Stevens and his parents. Surviving are two daughters, Loretta Forbes of Gulliver, MI., and Anna (Philip) McKay of Gulliver, MI. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Friday, February 27, 2009 at Eleven a.m. at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Visitation will take place on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility or an animal shelter of the donor's choice.
