Alan "Butch" Sattler

Alan “Butch” P. Sattler, age 71, of Central Lake passed away on October 24, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital.

Butch was born on October 22, 1946 in Detroit to the late Albert and Sylvia (Michalak) Sattler. Butch served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, camping in the Upper Peninsula and going gambling. He collected all kinds of bear memorabilia.

On February 25, 1979 in Farmington, Butch married Helen Moody who survives. He is also survived by his children, Larry Sattler of TN, Jennifer Sattler-Wilson (Chad Wilson) of NC, Liz Sattler (Fiancé Andrew Mellon) of Sparta and Tammy (Jared) Mosher of Traverse City, sisters, Barbara Wild and Pat (Richard) Rajda along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt Marceline Sattler.

Funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass also at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Butch’s family. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2017 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Arrangements are being handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes.
