Alan Knight

ALAN L. KNIGHT 54, of Bellaire, died Sat. March 6, 2010 at home. Alan was born August 8, 1955 in Flint the son of Norman and Joan (Thomas) Knight. He was the Grocery Manager for Glen's Market in Bellaire for the past eight years. Previously, he worked for Crown Motors of Charlevoix and for many years owned and operated the Grass River Cottage Service. He moved to Bellaire from Clio in 1988. He was a member of the First Church of Christ Science of Traverse City. On Feb. 14, 1976 he married Susan Surdu who survives. Also surviving are two children, Brian (Kelly) Knight of Kingsley, Stacy (Peter) Belanger of Kalamazoo, his father Norman of Rapid City, a brother Bradley of Tuscon, AZ, two grandchildren Dylan and Jacalyn, one niece and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother in 2002 and his grandparents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, at One p.m. with Herb Allen as Reader at the Bellaire Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends from Eleven a.m. until the time of service.
