Aaron Kirt Moffat, 52 of Mena, Arkansas formerly of Central Lake and Charlevoix, died Sunday, December 23, 2018 after a valiant battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
He was born February 16, 1966 the son of Stanley and Evelyn (Barber) Moffat and graduated from Central Lake high School in 1985.
Aaron loved life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed watching Nascar, riding motorcycles, snowmobiles and always going fast! He also loved his animals that he thought of as his kids. Aaron graduated from Culinary School in Traverse City and took his chef skills into several different restaurants, including the ownership of Guiseppe’s Restaurant in Charlevoix that was a favorite to many.
Surviving Aaron are his siblings Lorna (Nelson) Brookins of Central Lake, Joan (Bryan) Perrine of Charlevoix, Susan (Michael) Losee of Central Lake, Charles (Jeannette) Moffat of Central Lake, Ronald (Daisy) Moffat of Central Lake and Crystal (Greg) Vereyken of Mena, AK. Also surviving are many nephews and nieces and April Estep, a very special friend who took wonderful care of Aaron these last few years. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew Eric Perrine.
A Celebration of Life and fundraiser will be held Saturday, January 26th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Central Lake Veterans Center. Proceeds will cover the cost of final expenses and the remainder will be donated to a Cystic Fibrosis transplant recipient.
Interment will be this summer in Southern Cemetery alongside his parents.
