Aaron J. DeVries, 21, of Charlevoix passed away on March 31, 2018.
Aaron was born on January 5, 1997 to Henry “Butch” and Deborah (Teike) DeVries.
Aaron worked for Michigan Kentworth in Gaylord as a Diesel Technician. He loved his job and all of the work friends that he made. Working on vehicles was Aaron’s greatest passion in life and he spent countless hours modifying his vehicles and was always looking for his next vehicle. Aaron enjoyed snowboarding with his brother, Austin, spending quality time with his sister, Ashley, going on small road trips and out to breakfast with his dad and going to the movies with his mom. He also enjoyed watching M*A*S*H* with his family and spending quiet time on the beach. He was a very unselfish person who always put others first.
Aaron is survived by his parents, Butch and Deborah DeVries of Charlevoix, sister, Ashley A. DeVries of Charlevoix, brother, Austin A. DeVries of Boyne City, maternal grandmother, Wanetah Teike of Levering, paternal grandmother, Phyllis (John) Eisenhouer of Maple Grove, Missouri, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandpa, Walter Teike and paternal grandpa Henry “Hank” DeVries.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Charlevoix Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Dan Gilmore and Pastor John Carr officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Winchester Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Interment to follow at Atwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Aaron’s family.
