Aaron L. Coleman, 86, of Kewadin, passed away on June 20, 2024 at his home.

 He was born on December 17, 1937, in Central Lake, the son of Aaron S. and Dorothy B. (Zimmerman) Coleman.

 Aaron was the head baseball coach at Elk Rapids High School for 23 years, earning multiple coaching honors. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and making maple syrup.

 He was employed at Super Tool in Elk Rapids for 29 years then went on to work at Elk Rapids High School where he held multiple jobs.

 Aaron loved his family and visiting with just about anyone. He enjoyed sharing stories about history, baseball and many other topics. Anyone who knew him knew he had no strangers.

 He was a class act and a positive influence on many young adults over the years. Not only on the baseball field but in life. All those who had the good fortune to cross paths with Aaron have been blessed.

 On July 5, 1958, in East Jordan, he married Beverly A. Kent who survives. Also surviving are two children, Debra Smith of Mesick, MI, Randall (Elisa) Coleman of Kewadin, 3 grandchildren, Tammy Beardsley of Kewadin, Tony Coleman of Traverse City, Elizabeth Coleman of Royal Oak, MI, 2 brothers, Joseph Coleman of Kewadin, Ron (Audrey) Coleman of Ravenna, MI, 2 sisters, Doris Eichel of LeRoy, MI, and Margaret (Paul) Thomas of Brethren, MI.

 Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Kenneth Coleman.

 Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 12 noon at the Elk Rapids Bible Church, 400 E. Third St., Elk Rapids, MI, 49629, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Pastor Dillon Wiltshire will officiate.

 Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elk Rapids.

 Memorial contributions may be made to the Elk Rapids Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 2, Elk Rapids, MI, 49629.
