Aaron Lew Brock, 66, a life-long Charlevoix resident went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 28, 2015, after fighting a brief but brave battle with cancer. He was a gentle giant and loving family man. He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kim (Ransom) Brock; daughters, Kayla Brock and Trista (Edward) Schwager; step-daughters, Monica VandenBosch, Christina VandenBosch, Maranda VandenBosch; brothers Pete (Cindy) Brock , Ralph (Mary) Brock; grandchildren, Zaylyn, Kaylee, Brandy, Madalene, Aysia, Lauren, Tyler, Angelina, Sydne’, Aaron, Andrew, Asa; two great-grandchildren and many, many other family and friends who were very dear to his heart.
He was born to Aaron and Lulla Brock on February 2, 1949, who preceded him in death, along with a sister Dagmar (Brock) Muma, niece Cheryl (Muma) Ostergren and grandson Isaac Hoffman.
In Aaron’s early years he helped on his family’s dairy farm, served in the U.S. Navy and went to college to become a diesel mechanic. He made his career as a Semi- Driver. Following his dream of becoming an owner- operator, he started Brock’s Express in 2010. He loved spending time with his family, friends, children and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling, sports, Nascar, camping, golfing and singing.
He believed in God and was baptized into Jesus Christ in 2000. He was active in both Excelsior and Kalkaska Church of Christ.
Friends and family may call at Winchester Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 1, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral will be 1 p.m. at Community Reformed Church in Charlevoix on Thursday, July 2, 2015 with Jeff Badgero of Kalkaska Church of Christ officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wilderness Christian Camp or to help fund missionary work in Haiti through Son Light Ministries in care of Kalkaska Church of Christ 1725 W Kalkaska Road, Kalkaska, MI 49646.
