Robin Henderson

Robin G. Henderson March 13, 1943 - February 22, 2014 Rob's spirit left us the evening of February 22, 2014 - he went home to his Lord. Our memories of him will live on in each of us whose lives he touched. Rob had a quiet humility coupled with a brash and goofy sense of humor. The ways that he touched people varies, but in each instance, it was done so in a profound way. Rob was a man of many passions - He had a curious and intelligent mind - he loved to read, most often American history, and to discuss with his friends. He loved to learn more of the things he was passionate about, to share them with others, and to teach others - he always did so with his big personality. He had an impact on the people he shared his life with. Rob retired in 1992 from Great Lakes Steel/Zug Island. He thoroughly enjoyed his job running the ore dock, loading freighters and moving raw materials to make steel. He headed north to find new hobbies and passions. Cutting and stacking wood, taking care of his acreage, kayaking and motorcycling. He was a fabulous baker and made wonderful jams that he took great joy in giving away. Rob was an Army Veteran who loved his country, a loyal friend, the caring father of Aimee R. Henderson and the biggest fan of Mary K., his wife of 30yrs. One important message Rob would want everyone to hear is how Jesus Christ changed his life. His faith and hope in Christ gave him great comfort and helped him tremendously through the tough times.Robin's family and many friends will miss him dearly. There will be a memorial service on March 22, 2014 at Pathway Community Church, Mancelona, MI at 11am. A light lunch will follow service. If you wish to honor Robin with a memorial contribution you may do so to: Father Fred Foundation - Traverse City, MI, Munson Home Health Hospice - Traverse City, MI, Pathway Community Church - Mancelona, MI.
